it's all in the way you look at it. sometimes you have to get off the bus and see it displayed on a table all by itself. then you realize for the first time that it has a color, a taste, a shape, a smell. you realize it because the spargel on this table has a different color, taste, shape, and smell then the spargel you've always known. but it's still spargel. and then you notice the sign advertising a spargel festival. and you think "celebrate spargel?" that's right...celebrate spargel.

How Aware Are You?
Go here. Watch the video. Then respond in the comments whether you passed the test.
(Don't look at the comments until you've done the test, in case someone gives something away.)
I failed.

Passed, but I'm calling bullshit, at least to a degree. I say that because they start you out with a specific task and therefore focus all your attention to counting the passes made by the white team. Your task when driving, from the start, should always be to pay attention to the road and all that encompasses. But we know that doesn't happen as cars hit other cars, people, and yes cyclist. I just think the "test" is biased from the outset.
Really, you saw it? I totally, totally didn't since I was concentrating so hard on the passing. (It was a bit like the game at the ballpark where you have to guess which hat the ball is under!) Then when I saw the replay, I couldn't see anything but that and had no idea how I missed it.
I passed and saw the bear! and I was thinking of quitting driving!! I make Lisa nd Mary Jane and everyone else in the car with me nervous! Now I think it is becaus I see things they do NOT see!

I caught a new "figure" enter the frame out of the corner of my eye.
I didn't see it at all. That bear could have slapped me in the face and I wouldn't have seen it coming. I was DETERMINED to get the # of passes right.
I didn't see it at all. I chalk it up to our superior ability to concentrate on a given task.
Right??
[what if there really are moonwalking bears everywhere...]
In all of the free time that you have ;) you should watch "what the bleep"
What if the cyclist hits YOU??
I totally didn't see it. I thought it was just a member of the black team, plus I missed a pass. maybe I shouldn't drive!

I failed. In fact, I failed so miserably, that I thought the replay was bogus.. until I went back and saw the original video again.
i failed. i counted 12. & saw no bear.
