spargel

it's all in the way you look at it. sometimes you have to get off the bus and see it displayed on a table all by itself. then you realize for the first time that it has a color, a taste, a shape, a smell. you realize it because the spargel on this table has a different color, taste, shape, and smell then the spargel you've always known. but it's still spargel. and then you notice the sign advertising a spargel festival. and you think "celebrate spargel?" that's right...celebrate spargel.

Just Our Luck

Of course this would be the weekend we're flying. Jeff and I were going to be in Louisville for all of 32 hours. All we needed was a change of clothes, a bathing suit, and toiletries. Perfect carry-on luggage. But not now. Now we're avoiding carrying on anything but our essentials in the hopes that we pass through security without too much issue. And I don't think our habit of showing up an hour to forty-five minutes before our flight is going to work this weekend. Guess it's a good thing that we didn't change our flight from the Sunday night flight to the Monday morning flight. That would have been really early. Oh well. So it goes. We'll just grin and bear it because there isn't a darn thing we can do about it.

Laura said...: I was traveling this weekend too... thankfully the only flight affected were those going to the US or leaving from the UK (we went to France). We talked to a British woman though who said that in England they weren't even letting people take their car keys with them! What the heck are you supposed to do with your car keys if you've already checked your luggage and you can't take them on the plane? Anyway, I hope your trip worked out ok!; August 14, 2006 at 1:59 AM
